This Privacy Policy explains how the BillCrunch mobile application (“BillCrunch”, “the app”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) handles your information. It applies to the BillCrunch app distributed through the Google Play Store.
Short version: BillCrunch does not collect, transmit, sell, or share any personal data. Everything you enter stays on your device. We have no servers, no accounts, and no analytics. You can permanently delete all of your data from within the app at any time.
If you do not agree with this policy, please do not use the app.

We do not collect any data from you.
BillCrunch has no backend servers and no user accounts. We cannot see, access, or receive any information you enter into the app. There is no sign-up, no login, and no telemetry.
The information you create while using the app (for example, bill and payment names, amounts, currencies, due dates, frequencies, notes, categories, tags, and your in-app preferences) is stored only on your device, inside the app’s private local database. It never leaves your device through BillCrunch, and we never receive a copy of it.
All of your information is stored locally on your device using the device’s on-device database (SQLite), within the app’s private, sandboxed storage area provided by the Android operating system.
We do not upload, back up, or synchronise your data to any cloud service or third party.
We do not transmit your data over the internet. The app does not require, and does not use, an internet connection to function.
BillCrunch can send you local reminders about upcoming bills and payments. These notifications:
No notification content is sent to us or to any third party.
BillCrunch lets you manually export your data to a backup file (JSON) and import it again later. This feature is fully under your control:
BillCrunch requests only the permissions it needs to provide its core features:
BillCrunch does not request access to your contacts, camera, microphone, location, or call/SMS data, and it does not contain advertising or tracking software.
We do not share your information with anyone, because we never have it. BillCrunch does not transmit data to us, to advertisers, to analytics providers, or to any other third party.
We may disclose information only if it were ever legally required of us, but in practice we hold no user data to disclose.
Because all of your data lives on your device, you are always in full control of it:
No request to us is needed to exercise any of these rights; they are built into the app.
We do not retain any of your data, because we never receive it. Your data is retained on your device for exactly as long as you choose to keep it, and is removed when you delete it in the app or uninstall the app.
Your data is protected by the security and sandboxing mechanisms of your device’s operating system, which restrict access to the app’s private storage. Because no data is transmitted off your device by BillCrunch, there is no transmission to intercept.
For your own protection, we recommend securing your device with a screen lock (PIN, password, or biometric) and keeping your device’s software up to date.
No method of electronic storage is ever completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security of data held on your device.
BillCrunch is a general-purpose budgeting and bill-reminder tool and is not directed at children. Because the app collects no data and transmits nothing to us, we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children under the age of [[AGE, e.g. 13 / 16 depending on jurisdiction]].
Privacy laws such as the EU/UK GDPR and the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) give individuals rights over their personal information, including the rights to access, correct, delete, and port their data, and to object to certain processing.
Because BillCrunch does not collect, transmit, store (off-device), sell, or “share” your personal information, we do not process personal data as a controller or business in the sense those laws describe. In practice, you can exercise the equivalent of these rights yourself, at any time, using the in-app features described in Section 8 (view, edit, export, and delete your data). We do not sell or share personal information for advertising or any other purpose.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time, for example to reflect new app features or legal requirements. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date at the top of this page and publish the updated policy at the same location. Material changes will be made available before they take effect where required by law. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
